Georgia's Tax Free Weekend (July 30th & 31st)

Georgia's Tax Free Weekend Is Here!

You know, back in my day the unofficial end of summer was Labor Day Weekend, when we used to stay up, what seemed like every night of the weekend, to salvage the last few days of freedom before starting school on Tuesday.

However, these days the unofficial end of Summer is marked by the annual Tax Free Weekend, and the congregation of moms and dads at the local store to purchase school related items tax free.

Here in Georgia, we are fortunate to have two tax free weekends. The first one is mainly geared toward "back to school shopping" and applies to the following items:

Clothing (less than $100) and Footwear (less than $100)

Computers and Computer related items (less than $1,000)

School Supplies ($20 or less)

Make sure to take advantage of coupons or BOGO (Buy-One-Get-One free) sales to maximize your savings.

The second tax free weekend is on September 30th to October 2nd, and it applies to Energy Star Qualified Products with a sales price of $1,500 or less per item; and Water Efficient Products with a sales price of $1,500 or less per item.
